Pastor Tammy grew up in Lakeland, Florida, where her faith was nurtured at First United Methodist Church of Lakeland. From an early age, she experienced a growing call to ministry that was shaped through meaningful experiences such as serving as a summer camp counselor at Warren W. Willis United Methodist Camp and participating in both local and international mission trips. These moments helped form her heart for service, discipleship, and sharing God’s love beyond the walls of the church.
She attended Florida Southern College, graduating in 2000 as a pre-ministerial student with a double major in Religion and Sociology. Following graduation, she served in the social work field as well as in children and youth ministry, continuing to live out her calling to care for others and walk alongside them in faith.
In 2007, Pastor Tammy began her theological education at Asbury Theological Seminary, earning her Master of Divinity in 2012. She later served as Director of Programs at Virginia Wingard United Methodist Church in Columbia, South Carolina, where she also began her candidacy process toward ordained ministry.
In 2018, she was commissioned as an Elder in the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church and appointed to serve at Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Irmo, South Carolina. She was ordained as an Elder in Full Connection in 2021.
In June 2025, Pastor Tammy was appointed to serve as the pastor of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. She brings a deep passion for discipleship, community connection, and helping others grow in their relationship with Christ, along with a heart for mission and serving both locally and globally.
I am truly excited to be serving alongside the people of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. I believe God is actively at work in our community, and we are called to be a part of that work—loving boldly, serving faithfully, and living as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ.
My prayer is that our church continues to be a place where all are welcomed, where faith is nurtured, and where lives are transformed by God’s grace. No matter where you are on your journey, there is a place for you here.
