Senior Friends

Philadelphia UMC’s Senior Friends Ministry is all about fun and fellowship for adults.  The group meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for lunch and laughter. These are very informal gatherings often at the church in the fellowship hall for a covered dish meal or a  meal prepared by some of our members. At other times we will carpool to an area restaurant for a “dutch treat” luncheon and lively conversation. Each October, we rent a van and take a day trip to the mountains for apples.

The group always welcomes new friends to join them, and they’ll be quick to tell you that if you think you have to be “old” to join their fun, think again.  This group bridges several generations of men and women who are young at heart and act anything but their age.

Philaldelphia UMC’s goal for our Senior Friends Ministry is to provide for everyone who considers themselves to be a “senior adult” a positive atmosphere that is conducive to maintaining sound minds, healthy bodies and spirit-filled souls through the gifts of good food, laughter, prayer, caring relationships and shared lives of joy and love.
